Welcome to The Ball Cottage...
...a cozy little cottage, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, at 3800 feet up, right off the Blue Ridge Pkwy, on 221, in the small town of Linville Falls, NC. In its very private home community setting, The Ball Cottage is a lovely little 3 bedroom, 1 and half bath cottage that can sleep up to 7 guests comfortably. With a master suite upstairs, complete with a kitchenette, two families can share a vacation together or have a family reunion. The Ball Cottage is open year round for our guests to enjoy our distinct 4 seasons in this beautiful setting.
The Ball Cottage is on 1.56 acres, complete with native birds eating from the feeders or bathing in the bath and deer nibbling in the garden, our guests can view from their rockers on the front porch. Enjoy the spacious setting with your own picnic right on the property, barbeque and hotdogs provided, on the back deck, or a campfire at night under the stars, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, right in the rose garden. We provide books at the cottage, you can enjoy reading on a lazy day, in the cool mountain breezes, nestled in your own comfy chair, and/or movies on the flat screen TV, from our own DVD movie library, complete with popcorn.
Honeymooners will enjoy The Ball Cottage for its privacy, yet close to all the fun activities like hiking the Linville Falls, exploring the Linville Caverns, tubing or canoeing. You can even plan your small wedding in our archway rose garden right on the property, or if you prefer, at the little 100 year old Linville Falls Community Church, just down the road. Bouquet and music provided.
The Ball Cottage is named after its owners, The Ball Family, Bill, Lee, their son Curtis and their dog Sweetie Pie, who live right next door to the cottage, for our guest's convenience, should you need anything. We provide a complimentary bottle of wine and a loaf of homemade sourdough bread, baked fresh daily, from the Linville River Mercantile of Crossnore, to welcome you on your first night's stay with us. Also provided is a complimentary continental breakfast complete with fresh, homemade sweet rolls and jam, also from the Linville River Mercantile of Crossnore.
Your full kitchen at The Ball Cottage is fully stocked with juice, milk, cream, bread, and butter, in the frig, and the cupboards are filled with cereal, coffee, peanut butter, and fresh fruit, for your convenience, the closest grocery store being 20 minutes from us, in the town of Newland. There is also full laundry in the cottage.
So whether you come to see the first buds of Spring, the Fall leaves change, The Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain, the Wooly Worm Festival or a weekend of Skiing come and enjoy a memorable stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina at The Ball Cottage & Just Bring Your Toothbrush!
